Life of Luxury 27.10.2007
I’ve been with my new owners now for 2 days, and they have really been two fantastic days. As soon as I wake up in the morning Carol and Mark have been there to show me where the newspaper is, and I have had some lovely food for my breakfast.
Carol told me that she is now my mummy and Mark is my daddy. I know this is not true, because Carol is a human and I am a dog, so it really is impossible and, besides, I remember saying goodbye to my real mummy 2 days ago. However, I think it has something to do with this ‘bonding’ they keep talking about and as I’m growing to love them already I don’t want to upset them by telling them that my real mummy is a dog. Carol also keeps telling me that I’m her ‘little baby’ but I’m really growing up now and not such a baby any more.
I’ve also had loads of visits from different people who have come to look at me. One of them was introduced as my new ‘granddad’. I think this is Mark’s daddy, and as Mark is now called my daddy, they are saying his daddy is now my granddad. It all gets very confusing, but I don’t care what they are called as long as they are nice.
I’ve really made my new cage into a lovely home. I have the softest blankets I’ve ever felt and with a cushion and my ’snoozy’ it really is comfortable. Most of the time Carol puts me in there when I get sleepy, but sometimes she also lets me sit on her knee and have cuddles. Much as I love my cage, there is nothing to beat sitting on Carol’s knee and being gently stroked. It makes me feel really special and loved. I try to tell her this by licking her face, but she says very gently that she doesn’t need another wash. I think really that she quite likes it though because she never actually stops me from licking her.
If life continues like this it really will be a life of luxury.
