I have been really good over the last week with the paper training, and therefore I couldn’t understand why I was put in what was called a ‘cage’ last night and left on my own! I did have a nice bed in the cage and I must admit it was really nice to have some peace and quiet and be allowed to sleep without my brothers and sisters walking all over me, but I did wonder what I had done wrong.
I asked my mummy the next morning why I was shut away on my own and what I had done wrong. She just laughted and said that I hadn’t done anything wrong, it was just that I was growing up and it was time that I had a bed all to myself and the ‘cage’ was really my own little house. Apparently I have got one of these little houses at my new owners, and this was my chance to get used to it before I went to them.
Once I knew that I had not done anything wrong, I must admit that I really liked going into the cage at night. I had my own cushion and blanket, a bowl with water in and a little chew, all for myself. It really was nice not having to fight my brothers and sisters for the best position or to eat the chewie. I also felt really safe in my cage as when the door was shut nothing could get in to me. I really hope that the little house at my new owners is just as good as this one.
Mummy says it is only a week now until I leave her, and she is getting quite upset about it. However she still has her own sister who lives with her so she won’t be on her own. Mummy is also worried that I may get lonely as I will be the only dog at my new owners, but as long as I have some friends living nearby and my new owners play with me, I won’t mind being on my own.
