American Staffordshire Terrier

American Staffordshire TerrierThe American Staffordshire Terrier originates from the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, which was taken to America in the 19th century.  From these the larger and fiercer dogs were selected to breed and became the American Staffordshire Terrier.

The Amercian Staffordshire Terrier is usually slightly larger than the traditional Staffordshire Bull Terrier.  However they have the same key characteristics and coat, which is smooth and short haired.  The colouring can be varied, with red, fawn and brindle often with white markings.

What Eddie likes about the American Staffordshire Terrier  - I know they are very couragous and kind to humans.

What Eddie dislikes about the American Staffordshire Terrier - They scare me because some of them like to pick fights with other dogs.
